Filters

I think that when we are little we develop filters in our brains that help us process information quickly. Think about how much you see but don't register. Our brains have complex recognition algorithms that sort through what we see and only show us the things we need to pay attention to.

My American filters aren't really working in Thailand. Yes, the flight was long - so long the flight attendants actually changed outfits in the middle of the flight - and the time difference of 14 hours to Denver is shocking, but the worst is the brain overload. I don't know what to ignore. I see everything. And there is a lot to see!

It's kind of cool in a way. I don't remember seeing before filters. It must have been something like this. No wonder little babies just sit around and stare.
